GCU Basketball Camp
Over the past few weeks, 9 third and fourth graders from Montebello had the opportunity to attend a basketball camp that is held at Grand Canyon University. This amazing program includes 10 third and fourth graders from each Alhambra School. The students had a former NBA player as their coach, who has been teaching leadership skills as well as basketball skills to the students. The other coaches included Adrian Williams-Strong, a former WNBA player, former NBA player, Matt Fish, and Corey Gaines who is one of the Assistant coaches for the Phoenix Suns.

Students not only attended camp, they also attended a Suns game, where they were invited to watch the pregame warm up. Our Alhambra students impressed Al McCoy, who told the head coach of the camp that "he has never seen a group of kids that large be that well behaved." Way to go Grizzlies!!

From Students to Entrepreneurs!
On Saturday, February 20th, thirteen Montebello students became business entrepreneurs! The students worked together to create a product, determine a selling price, and devise an effective "pitch" to sell their product to strangers. At the fair, students sold their goods and made a profit. One Montebello group took home over $100 in profits! Way to go Grizzlies!
